Directions to Berrie Bluffs:

I-95 to Exit #26. Traveling south on I-95 take exit #26 and turn right onto Dover Bluff Road; If traveling north on I-95 take exit #26 and turn left onto Dover Bluff Road. Dover Bluff Road will dead end into Highway 17.  Take a right onto Highway 17 approximately ½ mile to the main entrance of Berrie Bluffs.

The coastal area of Georgia is famous for an abundance of outdoor activities available year-round.  Golf, tennis, swimming, boating, fishing, hiking or bird watching; all are available either at or near Berrie Bluffs.

  • The Golden Isles. Close by are the Golden Isles: St. Simons, Little St. Simons, Jekyll Island and Sea Island.
  • St. Simons Island, named by Spanish explorers in the 16th century, offers 99 holes of golf and too many tennis courts to count.  Its beautiful beaches invite a stroll or you may want to wander through captivating historic sites or visit the Island's quaint shops and fine restaurants.
  • Little St. Simons, a privately owned, 10,000-acre oceanfront island just off St. Simons Island, is great for anyone seeking a family beach outing. It features abundant wildlife, seven miles of pristine beaches, ancient maritime forests and shimmering marshes. A guided island tour is available complete with an interpretive program led by an experienced naturalist.
  • Jekyll Island The historic district is a National Historic Landmark The infamous Jekyll Island Club was founded in the late 1800s and was considered the most exclusive social club in the U.S. Among the members were the Astors, Vanderbilts, Pulitzers, Morgans and McCormicks. All build “cottages” on the island. Most have been preserved and are open to the public.
  • Hofwyl Plantation, a rice plantation just north of Brunswick on Hwy 17, offers visitors a glimpse into the lives of planters and slaves who grew rice along the Altamaha River over 200 years ago.
  • Historic Darien and the Fort King George State Historic Site are also north of Brunswick on Hwy 17.  Using old records and drawings, Fort King George, an18th century frontier fortification on the Altamaha River, has been reconstructed for public tours.
  • Sapelo Island, a quaint barrier island, allows visitors to see every facet of a natural barrier island including forested uplands, a vast salt marsh, pristine beaches and rolling dunes. The historic R. .J. Reynolds mansion, the University of Georgia Marine Institute and Hog Hammock Community, where many of the descendants of the Plantation era still reside are also located on the island.
  • Seabrook Village is an African American living history museum located near Midway just south of Savannah. Founders of Seabrook Village were freed slaves who took advantage of post-Civil War land grants to begin a new life of freedom on their own property.
  • Savannah, located an hour north of Brunswick, is one of the oldest cities in America. The city offers hundreds of interesting sites and the largest National Historic Landmark District in the USA. There are more than twenty city squares, monuments, parks, historic homes, churches, and eclectic shops and restaurants along its waterfront.          
  •  St Marys, just a short distance south of Berrie Bluffs off I-95, is a quaint, serene, friendly town. The appealing waterfront and historic village blend charm and southern hospitality.  Don’t miss the Orange House Hall Museum, the Toonerville Trolley, historic churches, the Oak Grove Cemetery, and the St. Marys Submarine Museum. St. Marys is the gateway to Cumberland Island.
  • Cumberland Island National Seashore, a favorite destination for coastal visitors, is the largest and southernmost barrier island in Georgia. The island offers over 17 miles of secluded, white, sandy beaches. Take the short ferry ride from St. Marys  to this unspoiled island and you'll feel you have stepped back in time. On this National Seashore, animals rule and people are only visitors. Wild horses run free through the marshes and wind swept dunes, while the inland forests shelter deer, alligator, armadillo, and mink.
  • Jacksonville, Florida, a 45 minute drive South of Berrie Bluffs, offers a wealth of attractions and recreational opportunities. A predominant waterfront provides access to boat cruises, riverfront boardwalks, fish camps, and offshore fishing.  Jacksonville is the home of the NFL Jaguars and Jacksonville Landing, a waterfront marketplace with unique shops and restaurants. Don’t miss the Jacksonville Zoological Gardens, Adventure Landing amusement park, or any of a great number of interesting museums and historical sites.
